Product Development and Certification of Protective Clothing
The product development encompasses the implementation of a through-going concept for effectiveness and safety in the case of specific products which are to be contained in the customer’s volume of articles of equipment, the further improvement of existing articles in regard to their attractiveness, functionality, durability and, above all, their protective properties. This is complemented by the preparation of specifications or, respectively, technical terms of delivery (TL).

Objective is the identification of producers of raw materials, sub-suppliers and suppliers who can supply the finished products which are required for the service clothing program. By introducing the necessary systems, processes and organizational prerequisites, it is guaranteed that the manufacture of the products is carried out in accordance with the specifications involved. Maintenance of legal regulations throughout the whole of the lifespan of the equipment is ensured by implementing inspection plans. Both the requirements as well as the new developments in the field of personal protective equipment are monitored in order to ensure continuous improvement. Lion makes sure that all personal protective equipment which is subject to risk evaluation conforms to the appropriate standard and provides sufficient protection as far as material aging is concerned. By means of our comprehensive understanding of the environment in which the product is used, the risks to which it is subjected are determined and we can ensure that an appropriate solution is found.
Calculation of Requirements and Inventory Planning
Your subsequent procurement requirements are calculated mutually and a forecast prepared on the basis of past and current requirements. This is done by taking the procurement times of materials into consideration so that there is no case of supply bottlenecks / missing parts.
Our own, state-of-the-art logistic center with its storage facilities and systems together with appropriate personnel resources ensure that products to be supplied to the end user are efficiently, safely and professionally stored. The current requirements are determined on the basis of the forecast or, respectively, the existing requirements and orders placed for the products required.
Our holistic logistics and transport strategy encompasses an analysis of alternative possibilities of transport and the necessary current information technology for improving the planning, the processing and the execution of logistics. We provide our customers with access to the methods of strategic transport procurement (STP). We provide either internal company transport services or develop intelligent and cooperative communities of forwarding companies in order to identify forwarders with compensating flows of goods. In this manner, the demand for transport is compiled and the critical mass for a specific transport prepared.
Tailoring Alteration Service, Care, Repair and Disposal Services
In addition to a complete alteration service (if required, locally) Lion also offers cleaning/laundry services (if required with collection and delivery service), repairs with the company’s own machines (including seam taping / seam welding and test devices for membranes) as well as the disposal of all types of goods.
A PC supported tracing and monitoring system using individual 2D bar code labels on each article makes full documentation and monitoring of repairs, inspections and tests possible. By means of the records obtained in this manner, the necessary budget items for maintenance and the procurement of spare parts can be calculated and planned in advance. Thus, with the help of Lion, our customers are in a position to prepare a defined budget proposal for years in advance.
We provide you with catalogues and order forms in printed and/or electronic form together with the possibility of submitting orders by mail, fax, telephone or internet. Lion operates a very effective system for the administration of online orders which is tailored to suit the service clothing program of the customers. Employees can gain access to service clothing articles for their particular field of work through this system. In addition, the system also possesses an allocation management facility (budget administration) which prevents employees from exceeding their individual clothing budgets, from acquiring service clothing which does not belong to their sector or from purchasing an article which is not covered by the employee’s individual clothing budget.
TotalCare® generally also provides employee-specific delivery so that the products reach your employees directly. These can however also be handed out personally, for example, in the LionShops®. We provide support for your service clothing program in the form of personnel required and the materials which are necessary for effective communication with all end users. This can be in the form of constant or temporary support locally on your premises. This also involves the provision of catalogues, order forms procedure manuals and training films.
